Lion Catherine (Cat) Gon, a native Californian and Air Force dependent who traveled extensively across the United States and Japan, now calls Sacramento home.

Lion Cat is an alumni of California State University Sacramento (CSUS) with an affinity for science but majored in Business Administration.  Married to Past District Governor Erv Gon (2014-2015), they are the proud parents of four very accomplished sons: a Chemist, Sheet Metal Fabricator, Communication Manager, and Doctor of Kinesiology/Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine.

Introduced to Lions as a partner in service and enjoying the camaraderie and projects with the Sacramento Embarcadero Lions Club, she petitioned to become a member in 2000 and has been involved in all club projects, fundraisers, and at the weekly meetings.  Club positions and accolades are: Director 2005-2007; 2016-2019, 3rd Vice President    2007-2008, President 2009-2010, Membership Chair 2011-2012, Club Lion of the Year: 2010-2011, 2012-2013, 2014-2015.

Lion Cat has been active in the District as: the Catering and Hospitality        Chair 2002-2005, 2007, 2011, and 2017; Council of Governor Hospitality Chair 2006, 2012, 2017,and 2019; Convention Program Chair 2015-2019; Camellia Zone Chair 2010-2011; MD4 Hospitality 2013 and 2019; Cabinet Treasurer 2012-2013; Lions Education Foundation (LEF) Fundraiser Chair 2009-2016, Vice President 2017-2018, Cabinet Secretary 2014-2015; Northern California Lions Sight Association (NCLSA) member; and Second Vice District Governor 2018-2019.  Lion Cat is a graduate of the 2018 Advanced Lions Leadership Institute, Winnipeg, Canada.

Recognized by her peers, Lion Cat was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship, LEF Life Membership, three-time Club Lion of the Year, and several NCLSA Awards by the Embarcadero Lions Club; within the District 4-C5: Dos Rios Region Lion of the Year 2009-2010, District Co-Lion of the Year 2014-2015; numerous District Governor’s Certificates of Appreciation; Multiple District 4 Excellence Award; and Numerous International Presidential Appreciation Awards.
