Hello Fellow Lions!

Please join the Sacramento Metropolitan Lions Club, National Council of Jewish Women Sacramento Section, International Rescue Committee and WEAVE for our next SacPOST community day of action scheduled for Sunday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  (Most of the teams typically complete their outreach shift before 3 p.m.)

SacPOST stands for Sacramento Poster Outreach to Stop Trafficking, a poster outreach campaign based on California Civil Code section 52.6.  Under that law, certain categories of establishments must post a notice about human trafficking, as specified in the law.  Among other things, the notice must include the phone and text number for the National Human Trafficking Hotline. The notice is an essential way to provide lifesaving services to human trafficking survivors and is an invaluable resource for law enforcement.

Our day of action will begin with a two hour training on human trafficking, the hotline posting law, outreach strategies and safety.  Volunteers will then visit pre-determined business locations in Sacramento County to educate the businesses about human trafficking and the posting law, and to encourage those businesses to post a notice that complies with Civil Code section 52.6 for Sacramento County.

Volunteers will visit locations in teams of 2 or 3 people.  This is a great opportunity for each club in District 4-C5 to form at least one outreach team!

The deadline to register is 5 p.m. on Friday, May 17.  To register or for more information, please visit

Please note:

  • Participants must be at least 18 years old as of the day of action in order to attend the training and assist with outreach. Participants should not bring anyone with them who is not at least 18 years old.
  • The training is FREE, however participants are committing to serve on an outreach team.
  • Participants must pre-register by the registration deadline.  We will not be accepting walk-in registrations.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like me to provide a presentation on SacPOST at your next club meeting.  Thank you!
