Dos Rios Region Chair – Dennis Kramer
Lion Dennis was born and raised in Northern California, where he was an active Boy Scout (reaching the rank of Eagle Scout and member of the Vigil Honor), member of 4-H (Silver Star) recipient and was in the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) in high school.
A bicentennial high school graduate, Dennis attended Yuba Community College in Marysville, where he first met Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kitty. They moved to Stockton in 1978, where he finished his Bachelor’s degree in American Humanics at the University of the Pacific (UOP). American Humanics is the study in administration and leadership for community non-profit organizations. He and Lion Kitty married in 1979 between his junior and senior years at UOP.
After graduation, Lion Dennis and Lion Kitty moved to Woodland, where he was the Boy Scout Executive for the local area. He then became interested in the home improvement and remodeling business, where he spent many years. Dennis then switched gears and 20 years ago, become an engineer at the Woodland Memorial Hospital, where he remains today.
Dennis first joined Lions in April 2003. He has served as Director, Vice President and President at the Club level and has served as Zone and Region chairs, as well as, chairing the District 4-C5 Long Range Planning in 2014-2015. In 2016-2017, Dennis began serving on the MD-4 Long Range Planning committee. He is presently a member of the Lions Special Kids Day (SKD) steering committee, where he was an inaugural member. SKD has become one of his favorite Lions’ events.
Club honors for Dennis include Presidential Appreciation awards, as well as being named co-Lion of the year with Kitty. Dennis is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
The proud father of Shawn and Rebecca and father-in-law to Trevor Pope-Lance, all three are college graduates
